Seasonal Tips - Summer
Aeration
Lawn aeration is the secret weapon in making your lawn healthy. Aeration
involves making holes in the lawn either by pushing a rod into it or by
"coring", extracting a plug of soil.
Aeration loosens compacted soil and breaks up thatch. It allows water, oxygen
and other nutrients to seep into the soil, encouraging new root growth and
establishing a stronger, deeper root base for a lusher, healthier turf. Another
benefit to aeration is the reduction of water runoff and puddling.
Aeration is beneficial to do once a year under normal conditions. Aeration will
help your lawn utilize rainfall and irrigation more effectively.
